Marilyn was born in the Southwest and spent her early years in Cuxhaven, Germany. Her experiences there instilled a deep appreciation for art, nature, and traditional cultures. After returning to the United States, she attended the University of Texas at El Paso, where she studied fine arts and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting.
Later, Marilyn served as an artist in residence at the Historic Santa Fe Foundation's James L. Johnson House on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She also has experience working as a gallery director at Acosta Strong Fine Art, where she specialized in Historic Southwest Art and Contemporary Modern Art.
